Indigo: *Examines the slime* Yes, I think you’re right, Abby. It does have a rather disgusting familiarity to it, doesn’t it?

Abby:  Yes. Yes it does.

Angela: What?! What is it? Poison? 

Gwen:  No, no. It has to be something more volatile. Whatever left this *she stretches the clear substance between her hands* stuff behind, must be really scary…

Angela:  The creature from the black lagoon?

Indigo:  Nope, nothing like that. Sorry, but it’s…

Abby:  …dog slobber.

*Indigo snatches a feather floating in front of her face*

Indigo:  And if I’m not mistaken, there’s a little ghostie I know who loves to wear his fake angel wings.

Abby:  Let me guess. He likes candy--which he shares with the ghost dog, while watching the telly. *she picks up the remote and turns the television off*

Indigo: Chance. The ghost dog is named Chance and he is a very slobbery bulldog.

*Angela and Gwen share embarrassed glances*

Angela:  Well, it could have been something more…

Gwen:  Totally…

*hysterical giggling continues as Indigo and Abby cling to each other, snorting and pointing at Gwen and Angela trying to get off the floor. Gwen crawls over to the sofa on slippery hands and knees.*

Gwen:  Over here Angela. We’ll use the couch.

*Angela follows, mostly on hands and knees, but sometimes slithering. The ladies pull themselves onto the sofa. Gwen slaps at a feather that floats in front of her face.*

Angela: I’m glad you two find this funny. I certainly don’t. Our PIP headquarters is haunted!

Indigo:  Well of course it is! Angela, this place is stock full of all the beings you and Gwen have created. Take Franny, for instance. She’s a ghost. And she’s not scary and she doesn’t fling ectoplasm at anybody.

Abby:  Besides, *rubs the slimy substance between her fingers and studies it closely* this stuff looks kind of familiar. I have a sneaking suspicion…

*Gwen, Abby and Indigo stand paralyzed with a clear, slimy substance dripping down their faces and clothing. Angela is attempting, with little success, to pick herself up off the floor*

Gwen: Oh. Here, Angela. Let me help. *She extends her hand. Angela grasps it and Gwen pulls…and slips down with a thunk next to Angela*

Abby: *snort* Oh. Uh. Sorry. It’s completely not funny.

Indigo: No. *she shakes her head* Completely *snort* not *snort* funny.

*The girls burst into laughter*

*Angela and Gwen lay on their backs, staring at the ceiling*

Angela to Gwen: Any idea what this stuff is?

*background giggling continues*

Gwen to Angela: Well, it sort of looks like Ectoplasm. You know, that stuff that spirits sometimes fling at living people because…well, I don’t know why. They just do.

Angela: *goes wild-eyed* You tryin’ to tell me we have some random ghosts here flinging *raises her dripping hand* slime around? *she rolls over* Help me up. Help me up, Gwen. We got to get the freak out of here…”

Indigo: Now, Angela. You have to believe us. We totally learned our lesson the last time we threw an unauthorized party.

Abby:  Seriously. How stupid would we be to leave a mess this big? *Indigo throws her meaningful look* Oh. Um. I mean, of course we wouldn’t leave a mess this big because we wouldn’t have another secret party, so, uh, no party, no mess. Right?

*Angela’s eyes are still narrowed in disbelief, but she’s willing to listen*

Gwen: No, the girls are way smarter than that now.

Indigo, in a tone of surprise: Thank you, Gwen.

Gwen: I mean, if they drank your Wild Cherry Pepsi, they’d totally replace it.

*Abby’s face turns indignant. She opens her mouth to reply, when she catches another meaningful look from Indigo*

Angela:  *reluctantly* Well, all right, then. I guess maybe you wouldn’t do that again. But if not you two, then who?

*Angela starts to wade back through the mess, when, slip, zip, slide, her feet zoom out from under her. She lands on her backside, feet flailing in the air. Something slimy drips from her shoes. She freaks and kicks her feet…*

The Great Destruction: Who Killed the WCP?

And now, episode I: Who Killed The WCP?

Angela unlocks the door at PIP headquarters and steps over the threshold. She stops in her tracks, causing Gwen to run into her back…

Gwen: Oof.

Angela: Oh. My. Word.

*Gwen, Abby and Indigo scramble to peek around her*

Gwen: *gasps* Oh. My. Word.

Abby: *wading into the room* Yeah, I think we got that part covered, Gwen.

Indigo: What in heaven’s name happened here?

*Candy wrappers and empty chip bags littered the carpet. Clothing was scattered across the floor. Boxes of Angela’s and Gwen’s new releases had been opened and the books strewn across the living room. Stray kernels of white fluffy popcorn crunched beneath their feet as they waded further into the room. Gwen swats at a flying feather.*

Angela: Someone had a party. *she narrows her eyes at Abby and Indigo* Or a couple of someone’s had a party.

*The girls start to deny their involvement, when…*

Gwen: Look!  *points to a corner next to the couch*

Angela: *Makes her way wide-eyed over to the corner, then stoops to pick something up. Slowly she turns. An empty can of her beloved Wild Cherry Pepsi lay in her hand. A dozen others, crushed and left for dead in the corner...*

Pssst! Partners in ParanormYA Announce Tour!

 

 

As a lot of you know, the PIPs are about to launch another book tour, starting next week. It’s just a quick book blitz this time, only four days. And yet, we have four to five stops per day. Never fear, though, because we managed to borrow a cloning machine from a certain awesome blogger we know…but I digress.

This tour will feature the sequels to our last books, Neverlove and Givin’ Up The Ghost.

 

They All Fall Down and A Guilty Ghost Surprised have the same casts of lovable characters (and some, not so much) as the last tour. And of course, a lot of cross-over action will be going on between the books, characters and authors on the tour.

We’ll be posting the links with scheduled stops here every day. If you follow along, you’ll notice themes, such as radio interviews and game shows.

Indigo and Abby are slouched on the sofa at PIP Headquarters eating cold pizza and watching Ghost Whisperer.

Abby: I am so thankful Simon was able to find some more Wild Cherry Pepsi. I thought we were so grounded. Angela would have instantly known we had a party...

*Indigo mutes the commercial*

Abby: ...and I still can't believe Badger got out of here without being spotted.

Indigo: Thanks to Franny causing a distration, you mean.

Abby: Yeah. How'd she know he was here?

Indigo: She didn't. Not at first anyway. She has a guest spot over at Ciara Knight's blog today and wanted to store her gown nearby. Imagine her fright when she opened the closet and Badger was standing there.

*Abby snorts*

Abby: I can't believe that a human guy gave a ghost lady a "fright," as you put it. What does a ghost have to be afraid of?

*Indigo shrugs*

Indigo: I don't know. But why does a ghost change her clothing every day, for that matter?

Abby: Good point. Hey, don't Angela and Gwen have two stops today?

*Indigo glances at the sidebar*

Indigo: Yeah. Their other stop may be at Books Down My Pillow, hosted by Cam.  Still in the works?

Early a.m.

*knock, knock, knock*

Indigo peeks through the peephole and sees Badger, cute even through the wonky viewfinder. A smile spreads across Indigo's face. She opens the door and drags him inside.  Abby traipses down the hall to join them.

*Badger is empty-handed.*

*Indigo cocks her eyebrow, crosses her arms and taps her foot.*

Indigo: Don't tell me you forgot again? Two days in a row?

Badger: I tried, Indigo! Apparently there's a run on Wild Cherry Pepsi. I can't find it anywhere.

*The trio head down the hall to the entertainment room.*

Abby: Oh no. What are we going to do? Those were Angela's - if she finds out we drank her WCP...

Indigo: ...and had a party...

*Badger almost sat down on the virtual sofa, but changed his mind. Instead, he beat feet down the hall. Abby and Indigo chase after him.*

Abby: Where are you going?

Badger: I'm out of here. All I need is for Angela to find out I was here, and at a party here on Monday - she'll talk Gwen into making me the devil or something equally evil in her next novel. No, thank you!

*Voices at the front door causes a train derailment as the three teens collide in the hall.*

Indigo: Quick, in here!

*Abby opens the office door and Indigo shoves Badger inside.*

*Gwen and Angela come through the front door with Meradeth Houston.*

Abby: Hi! What are you doing here? I thought you were supposed to be at Meradeth's blog today.

Angela: We only had one stop today, remember? So we thought we'd give Meradeth the tour before we head over to her place.

*The girls share worried looks. The office is where they happened to shove Badger into.*

Angela Brown and Gwen Gardner rush around, completing final preparations for the kick-off of their blog tour. Partners in ParanormYA Headquarters will be left in the trusted hands of Abby (Neverlove) and Indigo (Givin’ Up The Ghost) while they’re away.

They absolutely do not want to be late for their appointment with Alex Cavanaugh...

“Abby?!” Angela yells down the hall. She shoves a red sweater into her suitcase and slams it shut. She rolls it down the hall, sweater sleeve sticking out and dragging along the floor. “Abby? Where are you?”

“Here I am,” said Abby. She pops up from the virtual sofa.

“Good. Do you know where my book is?” says Angela. She begins looking around frantically. Under couch cushions, in the refrigerator.

Abby follows her to the kitchen. “You mean Neverlove? The one that’s releasing today?”

Angela nods. "Yes, that's the one."

“No. Never heard of it,” Abby responds.

Angela shoots a stern look at Abby.

Abby sighs. “It’s already on Amazon, Angela! It's uploaded and ready for purchase. You don’t need it. Now quit freaking out. It’s going to be fine.”

“Who’s freaking out now?” Indigo comes from down the hall.

“Angela.”

“Yeah, I know what you mean. Gwen’s in the bathroom and won’t come out.” Indigo plops onto the sofa.

Angela runs from the room. Banging ensues on the bathroom door.

*****

An hour later...

“Okay,” says Gwen, rolling her suitcase to the front door. “We’re ready. But where’s my book? Where’s Givin' Up The Ghost?!”

“Relax, Gwen.” Angela snorts and shakes her head. “It’s on Amazon, of course.”

“Oh. Oh yeah." Gwen turns to Indigo. "Now Indigo...”

“...and Abby,” Angela adds, looking at Abby pointedly.

“...if you need us, you have our itinerary. It’s there in the sidebar.” Gwen’s pale face looks as if she might need another trip to the bathroom.

“And Abby, do you remember the rules?” asked Angela.

“No parties,” said Abby and Indigo in unison. They grin at each other.  

“Yes, and...” Angela began.

“No boys,” the girls said in unison, once again.

“And, uh...” says Gwen, unable to actually finish a complete sentence.

“No rumpy pumpy.” Indigo’s cheeks flame.  

“Huh?” Abby looks confused.

“Hanky panky,” Indigo clarifies.

“Oh,” said Abby. “No, of course not. Well, you two better get going. You don’t want to be late for your meeting with Alex.” She makes motions with her hands like she’s herding chickens.

“We’re going, we’re going,” said Angela, headed to the door.

The door closes...

Abby and Indigo high five each other...

“What time is it?” says Abby.

“It’s party time!” Indigo yells.

Dancing ensues....
