The Great Destruction: A Sneaking Suspicion

We are proud to bring you a very special Partners in ParanormYA miniseries. The Great Destruction was created for your viewing pleasure, and will run all week in honor of Angela’s and Gwen’s new book releases.

And now, for Episode V: A Sneaking Suspicion

***

Indigo: *Examines the slime* Yes, I think you’re right, Abby. It does have a rather disgusting familiarity to it, doesn’t it?

Abby:  Yes. Yes it does.

Angela: What?! What is it? Poison?

Gwen:  No, no. It has to be something more volatile. Whatever left this *she stretches the clear substance between her hands* stuff behind, must be really scary…

Angela:  The creature from the black lagoon?

Indigo:  Nope, nothing like that. Sorry, but it’s…

Abby:  …dog slobber.

*Indigo snatches a feather floating in front of her face*

Indigo:  And if I’m not mistaken, there’s a little ghostie I know who loves to wear his fake angel wings.

Abby:  Let me guess. He likes candy--which he shares with the ghost dog, while watching the telly. *she picks up the remote and turns the television off*

Indigo: Chance. The ghost dog is named Chance and he is a very slobbery bulldog.

*Angela and Gwen share embarrassed glances*

Angela:  Well, it could have been something more…

Gwen:  Totally…

The Great Destruction: Don't Freak On Me Now

We are proud to bring you a very special Partners in ParanormYA miniseries. The Great Destruction was created for your viewing pleasure, and will run all week in honor of Angela’s and Gwen’s new book releases.

And now, for Episode IV: Don’t Freak On Me Now

***

*hysterical giggling continues as Indigo and Abby cling to each other, snorting and pointing at Gwen and Angela trying to get off the floor. Gwen crawls over to the sofa on slippery hands and knees.*

Gwen:  Over here Angela. We’ll use the couch.

*Angela follows, mostly on hands and knees, but sometimes slithering. The ladies pull themselves onto the sofa. Gwen slaps at a feather that floats in front of her face.*

Angela: I’m glad you two find this funny. I certainly don’t. Our PIP headquarters is haunted!

Indigo:  Well of course it is! Angela, this place is stock full of all the beings you and Gwen have created. Take Franny, for instance. She’s a ghost. And she’s not scary and she doesn’t fling ectoplasm at anybody.

Abby:  Besides, *rubs the slimy substance between her fingers and studies it closely* this stuff looks kind of familiar. I have a sneaking suspicion…

***

Will they get to the bottom of the slime? Stay tuned for the fifth and final episode of The Great Destruction: A Sneaking Suspicion, tomorrow, when you will also find links for Friday’s tour stops.

The Great Destruction: What the Ectoplasm is That?

We are proud to bring you a very special Partners in ParanormYA miniseries. The Great Destruction was created for your viewing pleasure, and will run all week in honor of Angela’s and Gwen’s new book releases.

And now, for Episode III: What the Ectoplasm is That?

***

*Gwen, Abby and Indigo stand paralyzed with a clear, slimy substance dripping down their faces and clothing. Angela is attempting, with little success, to pick herself up off the floor*

Gwen: Oh. Here, Angela. Let me help. *She extends her hand. Angela grasps it and Gwen pulls…and slips down with a thunk next to Angela*

Abby: *snort* Oh. Uh. Sorry. It’s completely not funny.

Indigo: No. *she shakes her head* Completely *snort* not *snort* funny.

*The girls burst into laughter*

*Angela and Gwen lay on their backs, staring at the ceiling*

Angela to Gwen: Any idea what this stuff is?

*background giggling continues*

Gwen to Angela: Well, it sort of looks like Ectoplasm. You know, that stuff that spirits sometimes fling at living people because…well, I don’t know why. They just do.

Angela: *goes wild-eyed* You tryin’ to tell me we have some random ghosts here flinging *raises her dripping hand* slime around? *she rolls over* Help me up. Help me up, Gwen. We got to get the freak out of here…”

The Great Destruction: The Unforgiven

We are proud to bring you a very special Partners in ParanormYA miniseries. The Great Destruction was created for your viewing pleasure, and will run all week in honor of Angela’s and Gwen’s new book releases.

And now for episode II: The Unforgiven

 ***

Indigo: Now, Angela. You have to believe us. We totally learned our lesson the last time we threw an unauthorized party.

Abby:  Seriously. How stupid would we be to leave a mess this big? *Indigo throws her meaningful look* Oh. Um. I mean, of course we wouldn’t leave a mess this big because we wouldn’t have another secret party, so, uh, no party, no mess. Right?

*Angela’s eyes are still narrowed in disbelief, but she’s willing to listen*

Gwen: No, the girls are way smarter than that now.

Indigo, in a tone of surprise: Thank you, Gwen.

Gwen: I mean, if they drank your Wild Cherry Pepsi, they’d totally replace it.

*Abby’s face turns indignant. She opens her mouth to reply, when she catches another meaningful look from Indigo*

Angela:  *reluctantly* Well, all right, then. I guess maybe you wouldn’t do that again. But if not you two, then who?

*Angela starts to wade back through the mess, when, slip, zip, slide, her feet zoom out from under her. She lands on her backside, feet flailing in the air. Something slimy drips from her shoes. She freaks and kicks her feet…*

***

What the heck landed Angela on her backside? Stay tuned for episode III of The Great Destruction: What the Ectoplasm is That?, tomorrow, when you will also find links for Wednesday’s tour stops.

The Great Destruction: Who Killed the WCP?

We are proud to bring you a very special Partners in ParanormYA miniseries. The Great Destruction was created for your viewing pleasure, and will run all week in honor of Angela’s and Gwen’s new book releases.

And now, episode I: Who Killed The WCP?

***

Angela unlocks the door at PIP headquarters and steps over the threshold. She stops in her tracks, causing Gwen to run into her back…

Gwen: Oof.

Angela: Oh. My. Word.

*Gwen, Abby and Indigo scramble to peek around her*

Gwen: *gasps* Oh. My. Word.

Abby: *wading into the room* Yeah, I think we got that part covered, Gwen.

Indigo: What in heaven’s name happened here?

*Candy wrappers and empty chip bags littered the carpet. Clothing was scattered across the floor. Boxes of Angela’s and Gwen’s new releases had been opened and the books strewn across the living room. Stray kernels of white fluffy popcorn crunched beneath their feet as they waded further into the room. Gwen swats at a flying feather.*

Angela: Someone had a party. *she narrows her eyes at Abby and Indigo* Or a couple of someone’s had a party.

*The girls start to deny their involvement, when…*

Gwen: Look!  *points to a corner next to the couch*

Angela: *Makes her way wide-eyed over to the corner, then stoops to pick something up. Slowly she turns. An empty can of her beloved Wild Cherry Pepsi lay in her hand. A dozen others, crushed and left for dead in the corner...*

Pssst! Partners in ParanormYA Announce Tour!

As a lot of you know, the PIPs are about to launch another book tour, starting next week. It’s just a quick book blitz this time, only four days. And yet, we have four to five stops per day. Never fear, though, because we managed to borrow a cloning machine from a certain awesome blogger we know…but I digress.

This tour will feature the sequels to our last books, Neverlove and Givin’ Up The Ghost.

They All Fall Down and A Guilty Ghost Surprised have the same casts of lovable characters (and some, not so much) as the last tour. And of course, a lot of cross-over action will be going on between the books, characters and authors on the tour.

We’ll be posting the links with scheduled stops here every day. If you follow along, you’ll notice themes, such as radio interviews and game shows.

There will be a rafflecopter giveaway, too!

Plus, right here on this very blog will be a mystery to solve…

We hope you return to the scene of the crime, er, blog opera, no wait...just come back, okay?

Youth in Sneak Mode

Psssst!

Hey! Abby and Indigo here. We got a little secret for you.

Indgo: Actually, it's just Abby.

Abby: We agreed to do this together.

Indigo: I just - I can't. What if Angela and Gwen find out?

Abby: The readers have to know. Gwen and Angela could have left well enough alone but they didn't. I'm not trying to say something bad, not really, but they need to know that Gwen and Angela have some cruel imaginations putting us through so much.

Indigo: I think that's called life, Abby. I'm so going to hell for sneaking like this.

Abby: You're not going to hell but, shhhh! I hear someone coming. We better go!

An Answer and Covers Revealed...PIP Style

Last week you were challenged to "Name that Movie." Well, if you guessed The Exorcist, then you were RIGHT. Go here to check out more on the real life story behind the movie.

And...

Now to the covers. *cue drumroll*

We're so proud to reveal the follow up stories to Givin' Up the Ghost and Neverlove

A GUILTY GHOST SURPRISED by Gwen Gardner

Add to Goodreads

An Angel Among Us
Paranormal happenings at the Eady household are the norm. Recently, things have become downright peculiar. Childish giggles at odd hours of the night lead Indigo Eady to her little cousin, Bryan, a guileless cherub spirit, complete with Spider Man pajamas and a set of faux angel wings. The problem is that Bryan died nearly three years ago in a hit and run that killed him and his mum. The driver was never found.  Now the gang must solve the mystery of his death in order to send him back to heaven.  But where to start when the trail is three years cold?
Indigo Eady
Indigo Eady is not clumsy. At least, that’s what she keeps telling everyone. Can she help that the overactive spirit community of Sabrina Shores causes her psychic abilities to short-circuit? It’s unfortunate that her cute friend Badger is often on the receiving end of her mishaps. At times, she is positively hazardous to his health. Even so, sparks fly in more than one direction.

THEY ALL FALL DOWN by Angela Brown
Add to Goodreads

Abby and Basil: New love reaches new heights as they finally give in to their lust and desire for each other.

Q: Consumed by the Devourer within and his base need to claim Abby as his own.

The crave: What it all boils down to. A crave for souls. A crave to keep love intact beyond betrayals. A crave for a second chance. A crave for power and The Fall of mankind.

“Love can conquer all” is put to the test and salvation may be impossible when it’s “ashes, ashes…they all fall down.”

About Gwen
Gwen Gardner is a native Californian living in sunny San Diego, where her love of reading and writing led to a BA in English literature. Life is now complete with her husband, two dogs and a daily call from her daughter.

Gwen adores travel and experiencing the cultures and foods of different countries. She is always up for an adventure and anything involving chocolate - not necessarily in that order.

About Angela
Angela is a lover of Wild Cherry Pepsi and chocolate/chocolate covered delicious-ness. Steampunk, fantasy and paranormal to contemporary - mostly young adult - fill her growing library of books. Falling Apart or Into Place

Writing and publishing, like life, can often be compared to a big box of jigsaw puzzle pieces.
It's easy to form the lower and upper edges along with the sides by finding the familiar, sticking to what's simpler to identify. With publishing, that often meant trying to follow the sage advice of others with more experience and knowledge, those who'd flourished at the time where only an agent got you where you wanted to be. When guidelines were followed and stuck to. Not so much nowadays. Forming the picture within, the final outcome, can take a lot of trial and error. This includes trying to fit pieces where they're not the best fit.

I tried that with Neverlove. I attempted to fit it into a pitch contest early last year. Seemed like the right thing to do, try and get the attention of a growing small press. It got no interest at all. None. No surprise since I have to admit it wasn't a 100% whole-hearted effort. Instead of being totally bombed about it, I took it as the beginning of a revival. I'd been considering self-publishing for a while. At the same time, I'd gotten back some AWESOME feedback on improving Neverlove and got into some great conversations with Gwen Gardner about self-publishing our novels and promoting them at the same time.

Brilliant!!

Far from falling apart, the puzzle pieces were falling into place, not forced or fitted into something someone else may have thought it would/should belong.

Have you ever experienced something where things seemed not to work but in actuality, they were setting the stepping stones for the path meant for you?

PiPs Disappear on Ghosthunt

December 20th, 2012
A dark alley behind the Blind Badger,
a medieval pub in Sabrina Shores, England

Gwen: It must be here.

Angela: I don't know why I let you talk me into these things, Gwen. What in heaven's name are we doing in this dark fragging alley at this time of night?

Gwen: It's called a ginnel. And I told you. We're looking for signs of paranormal activity.

Angela: Well, can't we look for it inside where it's warmer?

Gwen: No. This is where Indigo said she last saw the soul collector.

Angela: Say what?!

*****

Have you seen these Ghost Hunters?

Angela Brown and Gwen Gardner have been missing for two weeks. No blog posts or updated paranormal news. Nothing is missing from PIP Headquarters, except their ghostfinding magnifying glasses.

Banner by Tara Tyler

They were last seen entering a dark alley on December 20th on a routine Ghost Hunt. No one has seen them since.

The above photo was taken on the night of their disappearance. Gwen is on the left, with Angela to her right. The dude on the far right? You don't really see him.

Or do you?

Were you at the Blind Badger on the 20th?
Did you see Gwen and Angela?
What were they doing?
Do you have an alibi?

Hers, Mine and Ours

I know it seems like the Partners in ParanormYA have been a bit quiet lately, especially after the blog tour. But the truth is, we are both so incredibly busy.

That break we were supposed to have after our blog tour? Didn't happen - for either of us. Even when I wasn't blog hopping or commenting for a week, I came back and posted. And then I was working on a secret project - you'll hear about that really soon.

Here are some of the things we have going on:
  • We joined a group of YA indie authors for a Black Friday - Cyber Monday extravaganza.
  • We're having another group freebie on December 14 and 15th. If you like us on Facebook, you'll receive an invitation to the event. If not, we'll probably track you down anyway ;)
  • Givin' Up The Ghost is on GoodReads for a print book giveaway, Neverlove just closed.
  • We're involved in another YA Indie Christmas event - that's coming soon, too.
  • Angela is doing an online autographed paperback sale from her author blog with some other indie friends.
  • I'm planning (it's a secret, mwahahahah!) an event with another author for January.
  • Angela is working on the second book in the Shadow Jumpers (Neverlove) series (I read the first page and OMG! That's all I can say).
  • I'm working on the second book in the Indigo Eady (Givin' Up The Ghost) series.
  • Angela is working on a middle-grade book (I read the first chapter - you are going to love it!) and a couple of novellas.
  • I have a novella planned.
  • We have projects planned together - and we're not telling yet *winks*.
So, we have a lot of hers, mine and ours going on!

Are you as busy as we are?

What do you have going on?

Get Your "I Survived The PIP Blog Tour" Badge

The Partners in ParanormYA blog tour was quite the epic tour for us. As much fun as we had, it was long and tiring. But don't think we didn't notice you were right there with us every step of the way! We all survived this tour together.

So, in honor of our survival, we made survival badges.

For all those who followed, read a post or two, commented once or twice, please choose a badge for your sidebar.

Congratulations on surviving our tour!

Also, we're over at Angela Orlowski-Peart's blog today, as sort of an after-tour stop. We hope you can come by.

The End...But, Not Really

PIP HQ
Wednesday, 10/31/2012
Early Morning

Gwen sits at the kitchen table, steam rising in wisps from her mug of tea.  Angela sits across from her, turning a small pottery cup of green tea in her hand.

Angela: The girls did an amazing job with the decorations.

Gwen: I know.  And didn't use a single one from our stash.

*Both ladies giggle*

Angela: They tried.  I see they stayed away from zombie stuff, though.

Gwen: Can't blame them.  Being attacked by the walking dead can give you a new perspective on a few things.

Angela *glances at the recently replaced door*: Yeah.  You're right.  Still on for the surprise?

Gwen: You know it.  Since the girls tuckered out early, I was able to get everything ordered.  It's their last day on holiday, after all.  Then it's back to the books for them.  Can't let them go out without a party.  Authorized this time.

Angela: I'm going to miss this tour, traveling from blog to blog, seeing what new drama the girls can get into.

Gwen: It's not the end.  Not by a long shot.  It's a new chapter in our journey.

Angela: A toast to new beginnings?

Gwen: Agreed.

*While Gwen and Angela clink cups, Abby and Indigo crouch in the shadows nearby, smiling, giving each other a fist pound, excited about the "surprise" party, and even more thrilled at the mystery, fun, romance and action that awaits them in THEIR next adventures.*

****************************************************************************

Gwen and Angela are ending their blogtown tour at a blog that is particularly special.  Check out Literary Rambles (big hugs to Natalie Aguirre!!!)

And

Week 3 Winners are announced!

Halloween What?

PIP HQ
Tuesday, 10/30/2012
Mid Morning

Indigo *calling out as she enters the living room*: Gwen?  Where's Angela?  Abby?

Abby: In the kitchen.  Just got the coffee going.

Indigo: Did you see Gwen and Angela before they headed over to Tara Tyler Talks for today's visit?  You told them about the Halloween block special, right?

Abby: Yeah.  Insomnia is no good for you.  You conked right back out after Franny left your door yesterday.  I almost didn't start the coffee this morning until I heard you moving around, finally.

Indigo *blushing*: I'm better now.  So did they leave money for decorations?

Abby: Nope, just a letter on the table.

Dear Abby and Indigo,
Angela and I prepared for Halloween.  All the decorations are in the one place your party did not destroy.  Shouldn't be too difficult.  We expect them up when we return.

We'll be back soon,
Gwen and Angela

Indigo: Hmmm...the one place the party didn't mess up...where's that?

Abby *shugs*: I don't know.  I thought maybe you knew.

Indigo *flushes even redder*: I don't know either.

Abby: We're so screwed.  Again!

Indigo: No, we're not.  If we can't find them, then we'll have to buy some.  Basil and Badger can help.  Then Gwen and Angela won't have to know.

****************************************************************************

There's a problem with Indigo's plan.  Can anyone guess?  Until the reveal that happens tomorrow - our last day of the blogtown tour - please visit Tara Tyler Talks for some curiosities answered.

The Best Laid Plans...Have Last Minute Changes

Dark and Creepy Alley
ParaNormal Heights
Blogtown

Devourer and Dark Shadow face off, one a villain of Neverlove and the other a villain of Givin' Up the Ghost.  Neither of them appear overly fond of the other.  Actually, can't really tell with the Dark Shadow since it has no face, but the tension is thick, nonetheless.

Devourer: So what are we going to do, Dark Shadow?  Just stand here, look at each other?

Dark Shadow expands and contracts his presence, deepening further into a dark inky blob of doom.

Devourer: Hmmm...so that's how it is. *he snaps his finger*

*Two hellhounds spring free from their position by the Devourer's side.  A howl fills the air.*

*Abby takes another step back, foot clacking against something.  She reaches down and pulls up a Super Soaker Lightning Storm water gun.*

Indigo: Oh. Good. Thanks, Abby.  *Indigo plucks it from Abby's fingers and hands it to Badger.*

Abby: What the...?

Badger: It's filled with holy water.  Brilliant!  Indigo and I thought about it when we watched Supernatural the other night.  There should be one with a flashlight attached. That's for Indigo. Two more there for you and Basil.

*Digging in the darkness, the teens arm themselves.  Meanwhile, the two hellhounds attacking the Dark Shadow grow weaker, whimpering as they chomp and jump.

Devourer: Return to me.  *The hellhounds obey, both limping back.* No visible wounds.  I think I see how you work.

Basil: We're done with seeing how you work.

*Basil steps from the corner and opens fire on the Devourer and hellhounds, with Abby close behind.  Indigo flicks the flashlight on, landing the light upon Dark Shadow as she releases holy water. Badger barrels from the corner with a charging cry, water gun blasting.*

Devourer: What the he - Ooooow! Arrrrrgh!  I'll get you next time!

*Stumbling back from the surprise attack, the Devourer blends into the darkness, shadow jumping away with the hellhounds hot on his heels.  Dark Shadow loses its shape, its form dwindling to a mist that floats away.

Abby: That was awesome *fist pumps the air*

Indigo: That was dangerous, but it was fun *giggles and leans into Badger's embrace.

Basil: That was the end...for now

Badger: That's okay, mate.  If there's a bloody next time, we'll have each other.
***********************************************************
Some plans actually do work...with a little help from water guns filled with holy water :-)

Beware: There Be Evil Here

A Dark, Seedy Alley
ParaNormal Heights
Blogtown

*Whoosh! A sudden burst of flames explodes before them. Badger wraps his hand around Indigo's upper arm and pulls her to his side.*

*Abby and Basil, hand-in-hand, hurtle out of the blaze.*

Abby: He's right behind us!

Badger: The Devourer?

*Abby and Basil join Indigo and Badger, driving their bodies to the furthest, darkest corner of the alley*

Basil: Yeah, but he's not alone.

*Two, three, four hellhounds growl and snarl, breaking free of the fire.  The odor of decay thickens in the air when the Devourer saunters through with a confident swag.*

Devourer: I know you're here, Abby.  I can smell the suffering still clinging to your soul.  I--

*The Devourer lowers his sunglasses, empty eye sockets pinned to the opposite end of the alley.  The Dark Shadow, its dark, inky presence, bristles at the sight of the Devourer.  A shift of cold air dwindles the flames to little more than embers.  The hellhounds crouch beside the Devourer, jaws snapping.*

Devourer: Well, well, well.  You're not still upset about my little jab at Susan Kay Quinn's blog, are you?

*Abby sucked in a chilled breath as the Dark Shadow responded, dropping the air into a frigid cold*

Indigo *whispered*: This is bad.  This is really, really bad.

****************************************************

It appears Devourer and Dark Shadow, two villians from two different novels, are about to go head-to-head.  You can check out what happens tomorrow.  For today, you can find Gwen Gardner and Angela Brown over at Linda Jackson's blog discussing "doing things our way" and Michelle Pickett's blog where the resident ghost Franny Bishop - no relation to Abby Bishop - comes to the fashion rescue for...hmmmm...who?

Mad, Barking Mad

ParaNormal Heights
Blogtown
Wednesday at Dusk

Previously at Partners in ParanormYA....

*Abby and Indigo exchange a glance. Only one guy sported sun glasses at night...and it wasn't because he was cool. And he was hot, alright...hell's fire hot: Devourer.*

***

Abby: For a start, we're on opposite sides of the war for souls. Plus, Basil was sort of his pet project and he thinks I stole him away. I'd sure like to get even with him for snitching on us to Angela and Gwen about the party.

***

Indigo: *shakes her head* I don't know why I let you talk me into these things, Abby. It's crazy, you do know that, don't you? It will have to be split-second timing, getting the Devourer and the Dark Shadow together at the same time. What if our plan doesn't work?

______________________________________________________________________

And now, back to the program...

*Indigo and Badger jog leisurely down ParaNormal Heights. A light mist clings to their clothing. The black, ominous clouds grumble, threatening to burst and pour their displeasure over Blogtown*

Badger: This is mad, absolutely mad.

Indigo: Barking mad. I am so afraid for Abby and Basil. Getting trapped at the end of the alley, behind the Devourer and the Dark Shadow...*she stiffens* He's behind us. The Dark Shadow.

Badger: *Grabs her hand and speeds up* Come on, then. And whatever you do, stay on your feet! I can't fight off a bloody dark entity on my own.

Indigo: Look! There's the alley.

*Indigo chances a quick glance back as they plunge into the alley. Dark Shadow, a black, misty, soul-collecting entity approaches like a whorling, nasty wind. Indigo and Badger sprint deep into the darkness, splashing through puddles and sewage. The evil mist nips at their heels*
*************************************************************
A dark alley is certainly a barking mad place to carry out a plan of vengeance against two villains with a discriminating taste for souls.  Find out next time how things turn out.  Today, J.C. Martin, the Fighting Writer, has a few questions to pose to Gwen and Angela.  Meanwhile, "stomping it out" is happening over at Maria Zannini's blog.

It Was A Dark and Crazy Plan

PIP Headquarters
Tuesday
10:00 a.m.

Abby, Indigo, Basil and Badger are sitting at the kitchen table drinking coffee and pouring over a map of the seedier end of Blogtown.

Indigo: *shakes her head* I don't know why I let you talk me into these things, Abby. It's crazy, you do know that, don't you? It will have to be split-second timing, getting the Devourer and the Dark Shadow together at the same time. What if our plan doesn't work?

Badger: You're not going alone. No way. I'm going with you.

Basil: We'll all go. Indigo, you and Badger will jog down ParaNormal Heights. It follows you everywhere right? Lead it down the alley here. *points to a spot on the map* Abby and I will be at the other end meeting up with the Devourer on some pretext.

Abby: You just lead Mister Shadow to us, we'll do the rest.

Indigo: But...but...
